Bearing units "Agri-Hub"
Bearing units for use in agricultural equipment for soil cultivation must meet special requirements.
On the one hand, there are environmental conditions such as moisture, dust, and corrosive fertilizers. On the other hand, the bearing units are subjected to mechanical stress, such as collision with stones and the effect of the soil texture for the unit. In addition, high to very high axial forces generally occur, which are due to the arrangement of the attached devices. A robust, maintenance-free bearing unit with a long service life, which effectively supports the level of effciency required for agricultural, is also important.
The technical requirements are defined as such:
- Tractor speeds between 5 and 20 km/h
- Disc speeds between 90 and 350 rpm
- Force absorption of max. 3kN at the top of the disc
- Disc diameter between 300 and 800 mm
- Temperatures between -20° and +50° C
The solution
The technicians at NBR have developed
- maintenance-free, integral bearing unit which is sealed,
- lubricated for service life and
- achieves high rigidity through integrated angular ball bearings.
Compared to most other types, the EBS Agri-Hub bearing has an additional seal under the cover. All seals of the EBS Agri-Hub are made of a special FPM base VRS (Viton) material, which provides a high level of resistance against the environmental influences associated with agricultural soil cultivation (even manure)

Handling
The following values apply for installation
- Tightening torque of the bolts: 100 Nm
- Tightening torque of the nuts: 300 Nm
Due to the initial flling of the bearing unit with long-term highperformance lubrication grease and signifcantly improved sealing, the lubrication is on lifetime. The advantages of the EBS Agri-Hub also predestine the bearing unit for applications in municipal and construction equipment which are subject to similar environmental and operating conditions.
Conclusion
The EBS Agri-Hub provides a more cost-effective and technically improved alternative to the solutions that are already available on the market. The compact design and lifetime lubrication of the EBS AgriHub enables increased productivity, while at the same time contributing to ecological agriculture.
