Stainless steel grooved ball bearings
Deep groove ball bearings made of stainless steel are the best alternative wherever there is a corrosion hazard, because thanks to their basic material they are corrosion-resistant in humid air and various other media.
In terms of design, they are comparable with standard grooved ball bearings made from roller bearing steel (100 CR6). Both have deep raceways without filling grooves for inner and outer race as well as a narrow bevelling plane between the raceways and the balls. This is why they can support radial and axial loads in both directions, even in the case of higher rotational speeds.
The running properties are also comparable. However, the load-bearing capacity of deep groove ball bearings made of stainless steel is approximately 20% lower than when roller bearing steel is used.
Deep groove ball bearings are available in two different versions: open (rare application) and sealed for shaft diameters of 1 mm to 60 mm.
Miniature stainless steel bearings with a flange on the outer race are also available.
