Bearing housings

In drive engineering, the term bearing housing is used to describe machine elements which house and secure the position of a roller or plain bearing. Different materials and designs are available. The user can choose between grey cast iron or nodular iron, painted or coated, steel sheet, cast stainless steel or different polymers.

Depending on the bearing's purpose, there are different housing forms available such as plummer block housings, flange bearings with and without centring, radial insert bearings, hanging bearings, sliding bearings etc.

This means the user receives standardised and pre-assembled ball bearing units. High-precision ball bearing units are produced at low cost in large quantities and can be delivered quickly ex stock.

Ball bearing units are often used in conjunction with already mounted ball bearing inserts.
A distinction is made between ball bearing units according to European or Asian design or standards.

Typical applications for ball bearing units can be found in transport and conveying technology, in special engineering, apparatus engineering, agricultural machinery and packaging machines. New applications are being added almost daily.
